Cause

Legions are the cornerstone of communities across Canada, and provide one of the largest volunteer bases in the country. With 1,400 Branches coast to coast to coast, our members provide local services & support to build a stronger Canada. Whether helping local Veterans, supporting seniors, providing youth sports programs, raising funds, volunteering to help those in need, or simply offering a place to gather for fun and celebration, Legionnaires provide essential services in their communities.

The Sechelt Legion Branch 140 provides benefits to the Sechelt, Wilson Creek and Halfmoon Bay communities by providing funding throughout the year to community groups, food bank, sports teams and First Responders as well as others in need. We provide a venue for Community Groups & Individuals for many functions that happen during the year. In 2019 we provided funding for many community groups by donating over $32,000 to our community through our Charity funds and our Poppy Fund Programs.

The Sechelt Legion has a lease in place that expires at the end of 2021 so in order to keep our Legion viable we purchased a building in the downtown core of the District of Sechelt. We have been approved to construct this building by the District and we have some reserve funds but not sufficient to do the entire build so we are looking for support funding through this 50/50 Online Raffle. Please purchase tickets to help our Sechelt Legion to construct our new building.

Thank you.
